Big dogs, little dogs, brown, white, and black dogs—today, they all gathered for a big dog party in Ridgefield! Hundreds of Bernese Mountain Dogs paraded down Main Street in a sight to behold, celebrating community and canine joy. The event, organized by the Tri-State Berners Meetup Group (@tristateberners), brought a sea of majestic Berners and their proud owners into the heart of Ridgefield.
The festivities kicked off at 1PM in the courtyard of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 353 Main Street. Only Bernese Mountain Dogs were allowed to participate, making it a special day for these gentle giants.
At 2PM, Rev. Dr. Whitney Altopp offered a heartfelt blessing of the dogs, and at 2:15PM, the much-anticipated parade began. Proud Berners, with their black, white, and rust coats, strolled down Main Street with their families, drawing smiles and waves from onlookers. The parade ended at the Jesse Lee pumpkin patch, where participants gathered for a group photo at 3PM, perfectly capturing the joyous spirit of the day.
From big dogs to little dogs, the celebration embodied the spirit of companionship, making this dog party one for the books— thanks P.D. Eastman!
