Ridgefield native, RHS 1963 grad, William Carboni has died

William Francis Carboni passed peacefully on May 22nd, 2025 at the age of 79.

He was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut to Peter Carboni and Margaret (Ryan) Carboni. He graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1963, and went on to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts where he studied Civil Engineering.

After graduating, he married the love of his life Charlene (Stevens) Carboni, and they moved to California where they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer (Carboni) Murphy of St. Petersburg, Florida. He later became the proud grandfather of Kayla (Murphy) Dyer of St. Louis, Missouri and Kyle Murphy of Newtown, Connecticut.

He spent his long career as a civil engineer and truly enjoyed his work. He loved being a grandfather and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. These included traveling in his beloved motorhome with his grandchildren, a vanilla ice cream cone, a walk with his dog, and a good book.

He is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, and sisters, Ann DeLuca of Northford, Connecticut, and Peggy McLinden and her husband, Tom, of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, and brother, Peter. Though only his biological family members have been listed, he was a loving father and grandfather to many of his daughter and grandchildren's friends and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Reflections and tributes of Mr. Carboni will be offered at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will take place privately.
