Making us sparkle for 74 years, thank you Billy Craig and Craig's Fine Jewelry

Craig’s Fine Jewelry located in the heart of downtown Ridgefield will permanently close on April 1, 2024. The store will not hold a “going out of business” sale as per a notice placed on the store doors at 394 Main Street.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your loyal support and for making us part of your special occasions for 74 years," the sign reads.

Craig’s Fine Jewelry opened its doors in 1950 and is deemed one of the oldest businesses on Main Street. Founded by Helen Craig, Norman Craig and his wife Elsie took the reins of the family business until 1983 when their three children ran the thriving jewelry store.

In 2004, their only son, Billy, became the sole owner of the business, truly integrating this small business into the fabric of our community. Giving back to Ridgefield and its nonprofits while supporting fellow small business owners was at the heart of Billy’s mission.

Craig’s Fine Jewelry will be sorely missed. From the exquisite outdoor floral displays and always festive and captivating window art to the best holiday stroll parties - Craig’s was more than a place for fine jewels, it made us all sparkle from the inside out.

We will miss you.
