Meet the 2024 Great Expectations Ridgefield Library Gala Co-Chairs!

The 2024 Great Expectations gala committee, led by co-chairs Valerie & Jeroen van Beek and Jen & Rich Carter, is busy planning the Ridgefield Library annual fundraiser which will take place on Saturday, June 1st. The gala, honoring Marcie and Peter Coffin, will be held at the Library and will include a colorful-attire cocktail hour, a sit-down dinner by Gallo and an after-party with DJ and dancing.

The van Beek and Carter families feel a strong affinity to the Library. Both couples raised their children in Ridgefield, and spent many hours at the Library attending children’s activities, finding books and participating in the famous Library sleepover. Jen is an avid reader, and has become quite friendly over the years with everyone who works at the circulation desk. Jeroen served on the Library’s Board of Directors for 3 years, while Valerie’s mother enjoys walking to the Library to attend lectures and browse the Library’s frequent book sales. Valerie and Jen have served on the Gala committee previously, and are looking forward to co-chairing the 2024 event, saying, “We are thrilled to honor the Coffins who have played such an important part in supporting, guiding, and modernizing the library in these fast-changing times so that it can remain an integral part of the community for everyone.”

Because the 2024 Library gala is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the opening of the “new” Library, the committee is excited to announce the addition of its honorary co-chairs. Phillip and Christine Lodewick, honored at the gala in 2016, and Paul and Dewey McNamara, honored in 2019, have graciously offered to serve as honorary gala co-chairs. Their addition to the committee means this will be a gala not to be missed!

For information on supporting the Library and honoring the Coffins with a Gala sponsorship, kindly contact Development Director Jane Lindenburg, 203-438-2282, extension 104.
