NRVT Ridgefield Moves Forward: Community Invited to Town Hall Meeting

Ridgefield, CT – After years of extensive planning, problem-solving, and navigating the requirements set forth by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP), the Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) in Ridgefield is making significant progress. The NRVT team is eager to share the latest updates.

Community engagement has played a pivotal role in shaping the current trail plan. Throughout the planning process, NRVT representatives have connected with residents in various settings—poolside, trailside, and in homes—listening to concerns, adjusting the route, and reviewing fencing and screening options. As a result of these discussions, an updated trail plan has been developed and is now available for review.

The proposed plan will be undergoing local permitting reviews, a necessary step in finalizing the design. This review process will ensure that all community feedback is carefully considered and incorporated.

To provide further clarity on the project’s next steps, NRVT will host a Town Hall-style meeting on Saturday, March 1, from 10 AM to Noon in the lower conference room of Ridgefield Town Hall (400 Main Street). The meeting will offer an opportunity to update the community on the trail plan, outline the permitting process, and address any questions or concerns.

NRVT invites all residents with an interest in this long-anticipated trail section to attend the meeting. Sign up can be found here
