This renowned media personality—broadcaster, actor, educator, and Emmy-winning writer—brings a local twist to his poetry, reflecting his deep love for our community. A proud Ridgefielder, Ira lives in town with his wife, Shelly, and is a devoted lover of Welsh Corgis.
Blue Red Fall
Leaves are changing.
Polls are polling
and words are dotting the air.
(Some are dotting,
some are dirtying)
and paradox abounds:
Candidates are running
but staying still
to dot or dirty
the air.
September fell
Into October
and it’s tipping
into November
seeking a celebrating.
There is campaigning,
clicking or…
capping campaigning,
claiming, clapping,
clicking, and capping
with win or with lose.
This colored, cooling season
Is back from a colored, cool
year ago
but now
with a list of things to do.
I’m Ira Joe Fisher…
…and I approve this poem.
