Join Dr. Whitney Freeman of Henny Penny Farm & the Ridgefield Conservation Commission at the Ridgefield Library on Wednesday, February 12th at 7:00 pm to learn about regenerative farming and the integral part livestock play in healing our soils, bringing back wildlife to our habitats - and how all of this is tied to producing better food. What did our planet look like before industrial farms, ever-expanding cities, and manufacturing filled so much of our world? How can we reverse the damage we have done to the atmosphere, wildlife populations, and our own health? The answers to these questions and more are found in the principles of regenerative farming.
Dr. Freeman owns and runs Ridgefield's own Henny Penny Farm, which focuses on being a center of both education and food production (raising lamb, pork, and poultry) for local communities. The 18 acres of leased Town Conservation Land where she raises sheep serves as a model of one of the best environmentally focused grazing programs in the State.
