Ridgefield Mom and Daughter Team Up to Support Danbury Hospital's NICU

Born to Thrive Hosts Fundraiser for Danbury Hospital's NICU

Catherine Scatterday and her daughter, Kayla, have turned their passion for helping others into a meaningful cause by founding the non-profit organization, Born to Thrive. Their mission is both personal and heartfelt: to raise money and awareness for Danbury Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a place that provides critical care for the most vulnerable newborns.

In their latest effort, Born to Thrive is hosting its first annual fundraising event at Orange Theory Fitness in Ridgefield, CT. This high-energy workout class will take place on Thursday, November 7th, at 6:15 PM. It promises to be a fun and active way for the community to come together for a great cause.

Participants are encouraged to make a minimum $25 donation, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Spratt Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Danbury Hospital. The NICU provides life-saving care to premature and critically ill newborns, and funds raised will support the unit’s ongoing efforts to provide cutting-edge treatment and compassionate care to infants and their families.

To join the event, you can register at borntothrive.funraise.org via the “Visit Partners” page. Whether you’re looking to get in a great workout or simply want to show support, this event offers a chance to make a real impact.

Catherine and Kayla Scatterday's journey with Born to Thrive has inspired many, and this fundraiser serves as a powerful way to give back to the community while supporting a vital medical service. As Catherine shared, “It’s more than just raising money—it’s about helping families during their most vulnerable times and ensuring that babies born with challenges have the best possible start.”

Let’s come together and make a difference for Danbury Hospital’s NICU. Every dollar counts, and every effort brings hope to families in need.
