Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Quartet to Perform at The Aldrich on Oct. 18

In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra (RSO) is hosting a special performance by its quartet at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum on October 18th at 7:00 PM.

This event will feature a captivating blend of music and art, inspired by the museum's current exhibition, Layo Bright: Dawn and Dusk. The concert will weave together musical selections with artistic themes, providing an immersive cultural experience for attendees.

The RSO Quartet will perform a range of classical pieces that complement the spirit of Bright’s artwork. The program includes Franz Schubert’s “Rosamunde” Quartet, Joseph Haydn’s “Sunrise” Quartet, Giacomo Puccini’s “Chrysanthemums”, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Fantasiestücke “Humoresque”. Throughout the concert, connections between the music and the visual art will be explored, showcasing both the emotional depth of the music and the beauty and strength of the exhibition.

Layo Bright, the artist behind Dawn and Dusk, reflects on how the themes of her work intersect with the complexities of the modern world. "I’m inspired by our unique backgrounds, the current times we live in, the fragility of life, and the resilience to survive while navigating complex issues that seem to define us,” says Bright.
