Ridgefield High School alumnus Daniel Bucciero (Class of 2022) continues to make waves in the world of college baseball. The Fordham University third baseman has earned a spot on D1Baseball’s prestigious Top 50 list, recognizing his outstanding performance during the 2024 season.
Bucciero’s journey from Ridgefield to Division I success is a testament to his talent, work ethic, and leadership on and off the field.
Before joining the Fordham Rams, Bucciero was a dominant force at Ridgefield High School, where he served as team captain and earned two-time All-FCIAC honors. His leadership and dedication earned him the Tiger Pride Award, given to a player who demonstrates exceptional leadership and teamwork. In addition to his high school success, he played summer ball for Baseball U CT, winning the NEB Elite 8, and was named to the 2021 WWBA 17U National Championship All-Tournament Team.
Off the field, Bucciero excelled in the classroom, earning membership in the National Honor Society and the High Honor Roll.
Now a rising star at Fordham University, Bucciero had a breakout 2024 season. He was named a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection and a CSC Academic All-District honoree, showcasing his excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Starting all 52 games at third base, Bucciero posted career-high numbers across the board:
- .310 batting average
- 15 doubles
- 9 home runs
- 36 RBIs
- 17 stolen bases
Throughout the season, Bucciero delivered clutch performances, including a game where he hit both a lead-off and a walk-off home run in the same game against Saint Louis. He also recorded multiple three- and four-hit games, proving to be a reliable offensive force for the Rams.
With his D1Baseball Top 50 recognition, Bucciero is cementing his status as one of the top collegiate players in the country. As he continues to build his legacy at Fordham, Ridgefield baseball fans have plenty of reasons to be proud of their hometown star.
