A record number of 1,500 plus runners registered to participate in the 43rd Annual Turkey Trot, a popular event that benefits Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club. Tom the Turkey did not bring ideal running weather this year (and yes, some registered opted for their cozy beds) but rain or shine, this beloved Thanksgiving tradition is always filled with much gratitude for health, community, friends and family.
The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield Choir members Lucas and Kenzie Polo, Taylor Ogden, and Kate Ford kicked off the Thanksgiving run by singing the National Anthem along side event emcee Ridgefield Running Company founder Megan Searfoss and Club Executive Director, Mike Flynn. Prior to the start of the race, Flynn thanked Turkey Trot sponsors including the event's Title Sponsor Fairfield County Bank and Dr. Blaine Langberg and Champion sponsors: Karla Murtaugh HOMES and Collins & Hannafin.
Despite the weather, the fans were plentiful and loud! Smiles, camaraderie, and Thanksgiving high fives made for a holiday homecoming for many returning to town for this community tradition!

The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield has been serving youth since 1936. Thanks to annual supporters like you, race proceeds help to serve over 3,500 kids each year.
