Police Reports: Tractor Trailer Hits Pedestrian

Motor Vehicle vs Pedestrian

The Ridgefield Police received several 911 calls reporting a tractor trailer that struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Main Street and Prospect Street. The pedestrian was transported to Danbury Hospital by a Ridgefield Fire Department Ambulance for unspecified injuries. This case remains under investigation. *According Ridgefield Fire Chief Heather Burford, the pedestrian was an elderly woman. Her injuries were not severe.

Motor Vehicle Suspension Arrest & Speeding

While running radar on Danbury Road (Rt 7) , Ridgefield Police observed a black 2007 Toyota FJ Cruise traveling south on Rt 7 going 61mph in a 40 mph posted area. The operator had a suspended CT operator's license. Police issued a misdemeanor summons for having a suspended license and speeding. The operator was released at the scene on a written promise to appear (WPTA) with a court date of 4/19/12 at Danbury Courthouse.
