From Ohio via New York and California, Joshua Radin is a uniquely word-of-mouth success story. This singer/songwriter started playing music when he moved to New York City just after attending Northwestern University. Then he bought a guitar and started learning to play his favorite Beatles and Bob Dylan tunes. This artist’s alternative route to prominence began when his sitcom star friend Zack Braff gave Joshua’s demo featuring his very first composition, “Winter", to a TV producer -- who promptly used it to score a scene of the sitcom Scrubs in 2004. Joshua Radin will be in concert with his new “Underwater Tour” at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, July 25, at 8 p.m. playing his chart-topping hits that include “Winter”, “We Were Here”, "I'd Rather Be With You" and “Simple Times”. Radin’s latest album, Underwater Tour, is being released this month. Special guests are Tristan Prettyman, a California singer/songwriter, former model and surfing enthusiast, who has five albums to her credit including Twentythree and Hello…x, and also Scars on 45, an English indie rock band whose first full length studio album, Scars on 45, was released this past April 2012. Toscana Ristorante (43 Danbury Rd., Ridgefield) is offering a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of the show when tickets are shown. This event is part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series with media sponsor WFUV 90.7fm.
“It's just the greatest music. He's a really talented guy. He's like the new Paul Simon,” raved Scrubs star Zach Braff of Joshua Radin whose debut album We Were Here, drew critical acclaim and a four-star review from Rolling Stone.
