Summer Camp and Preschool Fair at the Ridgefield Rec Center

The sixth annual Summer Camp and Preschool Fair sponsored by the Newcomers Club of Ridgefield will be held on Tuesday, March 5th at the Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Center, 195 Danbury Road. There will be two sessions: 9:30am to 11:30am and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The snow date is March 26th. The event is free and open to the public. "Come learn about the great programs the area has to offer for kids!" said Christine Llewellyn, Newcomers Co-Vice President of Community Affairs. "All are welcome to attend this fun and free event featuring youth organizations from Fairfield and Westchester counties promoting programs for all ages.

With over 50 vendors participating, parents need to look no further to find out what our community and surrounding towns have to offer." Summer camp directors and staff members will discuss programs in sports, recreation, martial arts, dance, art, theater, nature, cooking, horseback riding, foreign language, academics and more. Programs target the smallest of campers all the way up through middle schoolers.

And new this year, area preschools will also be in attendance to share with parents their exciting yearly programs for young children. "We make it easy for parents to browse around the event by offering activities and refreshments for little ones during the morning session", said April van der Noll, Co-VP of Community Affairs. "And for working parents, instead of cooking dinner, we invite them to bring the kids and drop in for a slice of pizza at the evening session while they collect the information they need." No RSVP is required.

The Newcomers Club is a non-profit group that provides year-round activities for families, singles, couples, and children. The Club is open to all Ridgefield residents, regardless of years of residency. For more information or to join, visit www.ridgefieldnewcomers.org.
