Jersey Boys Broadway star Jarrod Spector at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Jersey Boys Broadway star Jarrod Spector in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, April 26

With more than 40 new shows coming to Broadway every year and cabaret acts at exclusive clubs in New York City, it’s hard to take them all in. For a true Broadway/Cabaret experience that’s within reach, The Ridgefield Playhouse’s new series brings the best stars to town to share their talents with intimate audiences in the Playhouse theatre.  The star for the past two years of the hit sensation, Jersey Boys, Jarrod Spector, who played Frankie Valli, is coming to perform his concert Minor Fall, Major Lift on Friday, April 26, at 8 p.m.

The multi-talented Jarrod Spector will perform everything from The Jackson 5 to Led Zeppelin and his critically acclaimed Broadway showstoppers from his roles in Les Misérables (Gavroche) and Chicago in addition to Jersey Boys. Bernard’s (22 West Lane, Ridgefield) is offering a special $45 prix-fixe menu before the show, or a free glass of wine with dinner, when tickets are presented; reservations suggested. There will be a wine & cheese tasting in the lobby at 7:15 p.m. This event is part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series and are partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa with media sponsor WMNR Fine Arts Radio.

Minor Fall, Major Lift is the story of Jarrod Spector’s life, told through personal anecdotes and underscored by his songs. “Spector does not hold back in showcasing his voice and certainly does not refrain from sharing personal details such as what song might have been playing during his conception. Throughout, the show is performed with a touch of humor. Some of the evening’s highlights included ‘Mandy’ by Barry Manilow, a soulful rendition of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ and Chicago’s ‘You’re the Inspiration’.  The show ended with a lively version of the Temptations' ‘In the Middle of the Night’,  as the audience danced, clapped, and sang along,” reported Adam Taxin on examiner.com.

For the complete line-up of shows in the Broadway & Cabaret Series and for tickets ($45), call the box office (203) 438-5795, or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.   The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
