Ridgefield's talented young actress, Evelyn Carr, will be starring in her second professional performance this summer at The Westchester Broadway Theatre. Starting on June 13, Evelyn will be playing Brigitta Von Trapp, a main character in The Sound of Music, for matinee and evening performances until the end of August.
Evelyn is extremely enthusiastic about her career, "Acting is my favorite thing," she explains, but she also admits that she "love[s] singing". Her mother, Noelle Carr, expalined that Evelyn was "singing before she could talk".
Evelyn remembered that her first performance as a singer and an actor was in the "Ridgefield Idol, Kids Talent Show" at The Ridgefield Library in 2009. She believes the compliments she got there gave her the confidence to preform on a larger stage.
"I've done lots and lots of community things, but [these] are my first big shows," says Evelyn, who admitted that she had been "a little nervous" during her first show, A Miracle on 34th Street, when she played the character Rachel. Evelyn confessed that she spent "alot of time playing backstage with the other kids" during A Miracle On 34th Street, but that she expects to spend most of her next show preforming.
Come support Evelyn by seeing her preform at The Westchester Broadway Theatre this summer!
