DANBURY, CT – September 27, 2011 – Craig’s Fine Jewelry, 394 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT will host a Craig’s Care “Tickle Me Pink” Fundraiser on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m., during Breast Cancer Awareness month. Don Mitchell will be the Honorary Chairman of the Event. Craig’s Fine Jewelry will donate 20 percent of the sales from the evening, and an additional $2,000, to the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital to support and raise awareness about cancer services in our community.
"Last year, while my father was a patient at the Praxair Cancer Center, I saw first-hand the quality of care he received and the dedication of the doctors and staff. I knew that this was an organization that I wanted to support, so I got involved in their golf tournament. Even though that event raised more than $275,000, I knew it was not enough for the valuable service and programs that they give the community, and wanted to do more. Craig’s Cares events are a way that we can help organizations like the Praxair Cancer Center grow and remain viable for future patients," said Billy Craig, Owner of Craig’s Fine Jewelry.
The Craig’s Cares “Tickle Me Pink” Fundraiser includes a wine tasting featuring wines from Benziger Family Winery as well as hors d’oeuvres. Dr. Valerie Statadub, Director of the Breast Care Program at Danbury Hospital and a fellowship training breast surgeon, will join us around 5 p.m. In addition to the beautiful jewelry Craig’s is known for, three well-known jewelry designers (Roberto Coin, Gumuchian and Syna) will have additional jewelry items, and Faber Castell will have their collection of exquisite writing implements available that evening than are not normally available in the store.
