Ridgefield Amateur Hockey Association's Mite Teams Successful in Massachusetts

Over the weekend, the Ridgefield Amateur Hockey Association sent two Mite teams to Marlborough, Massachusetts for the Mite Madness Tournament, and both came back with medals.

The Ridgefield Lions Mite As went undefeated in the tournament with decisive goal differentials in their first three gams (12-1, 7-1, and 6-3), but the last game was a nail-biter.  They were down 4-1 at the end of the first period; down 4-2 at the end of the second period; and in the 3rd period, the team tied it.  Then, the hard-working Mites pulled ahead 5-4 with 1:30 minutes to go.  The opponents ~ the Triboro Titans ~ pulled their goalie, and the Lions scored an empty net goal, followed swiftly by another for good measure, and then an actual buzzer beater to finish it off 7-4.

The Ridgefield Lions Mite Bs also had a fantastic tournament and went into the goal medal game, undefeated, but in the end, came home with the silver medal.
