Tomorrow Night: An Evening with comedian Mario Cantone at The Ridgefield Playhouse

                   Known for his memorable role as Charlotte York’s gay wedding planner with attitude from the ever popular “Sex and the City” TV show and movie, Mario Cantone has perfected his fast-paced, high-energy stand-up persona.  A veteran Broadway performer, Mario will do his spot-on impressions of some of the most prolific stars including Joan Rivers, Bruce Springsteen, Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland, sing original parodies and more at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, March 2, at 8 p.m. This program is part of the Ridgefield Magazine/Morris Media Group Broadway & Cabaret Series. It is sponsored by Ridgefield Magazine and is partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon and Spa. Terra Sole Ristorante (3 Big Shop Lane, Ridgefield) is offering a complimentary glass of house wine with dinner the day of the event when tickets are shown.

                    Mario Cantone is an accomplished stage actor whose Laugh Whore, which received a Tony Award nomination, opened to a flurry of rave reviews and was taped for the Showtime television network.  The New York Times applauded Laugh Whore calling Mario Cantone “A cathartic pleasure to watch!”.  Variety wrote:  “More laughs than anything in NYC!”  And The Wall Street Journal gushed that is was “…rib-splittingly funny – the funniest show on Broadway….”

                    A stand-up comedian, stage and film actor who takes on family, everyday life, celebrities and stereotypes, Mario Cantone has been featured on Comedy Central, Chappelle’s Show, The View, Oprah, Martha, and Late Night with David Letterman  and in the Sunsilk “Hairapy” commercials.
