Thrift Shop Grant for Meals on Wheels is Double

Meals on Wheels Receives Grant from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop

The Ridgefield Thrift Shop was recently awarded the Chamber of Commerce’s Ridgefield Business of the Year, and as they continue to grow in their new space on Governor Street, it hasn’t stopped them from continuing in their mission of supporting local nonprofit organizations. In fact, this year the Thrift Shop has given a record-breaking quarter of a million dollars to area organizations, including Meals on Wheels (“MOW”).

MOW was thrilled to receive a $5,000 dollar grant from the Thrift Shop this week, which is more than double the amount of previous years. “The Thrift Shop has been a long-time supporter of Meals on Wheels, and we are so happy to see how successful they’ve been in their new location. They do so much for our community,” said Dean Miller, MOW President & Board Chair.

Meals on Wheels is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides nourishing meals to those in need of assistance and since 1972 has been providing nourishing meals to ANY Ridgefield resident who cannot prepare their own meals, including the elderly, disabled and infirm. For information on becoming a client, volunteering or donating please visit the MOW website http://www.mealsonwheelsofridgefield.org
