Ridgefield Thrift Shop Awards RVNA $30,000 Grant!

The Ridgefield Thrift Shop has awarded a $30,000 grant to RVNA.  Funds will help RVNA provide care to uninsured and underinsured patients, and sustain the many programs RVNA brings to the Ridgefield community, including well-child clinics, flu and pneumonia clinics, chronic disease management, nutrition education and weight management, caregiver support, CPR training and RVNA’s annual Community Health Fair.

RVNA and the Thrift Shop have a rich history of collaborative support dating back to 1937, when the idea of creating a local thrift shop to provide funding to the District Nursing Association, or DNA (now known as RVNA), was conceived.

Pictured here, Thrift Shop President, Mary Ellen Loncto, along with other members of the Thrift Shop staff, present RVNA President and CEO, Theresa Santoro, with grant proceeds.  The grant presentation took place immediately following RVNA’s annual Spelling Bee event, in which Carol Gardell (3rd from right), Ridgefield Thrift Shop treasurer, was a stellar contestant into the final rounds.
