Ancona's Wines & Liquors raises more than $3,000 for school in Nepal

On Saturday, March 31 Mitch Ancona opened his third Ancona’s Wines & Liquors location in downtown Ridgefield, donating 10% of opening day proceeds to RVNA, a total of $2,200.

“My grandfather’s philanthropic ambitions were passed to my father, who taught me the value of giving back to the community. We source and collaborate with neighboring businesses and charities as much as possible.”

Ancona’s doesn’t plan to rest on his laurels when it comes to giving back. His most recent philanthropic celebration centered around education. Ancona partnered with Wooster School in Danbury and raised over $3,000 for Rashmi Secondary School in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Partnering with 109 Cheese and Wine who supplied select artisan cheese, Ancona offered guests wine, beer, spirits and delectable nibbles.

“I’m super proud of playing a small role in raising over 3k For the Rashmi Secondary School in Kathmandu, Nepal,” said Ancona.

Ancona will host a benefit event for Ridgefield Library and ROAR in his downtown Ridgefield store soon. Stay tuned for details!

Ancona’s Wine & Liquors has been serving the community since the early 1920s. In addition to the newest location in downtown Ridgefield at 17b Governor Street, Ancona’s Wines & Liquors is located at 720 Branchville Road in Ridgefield, and 5 River Road in Wilton.
