Ridgefield Highway Department Partners with Social Services for May 23 Food Drive

Non-perishable donations* will be collected at the Ridgefield Highway Department  (60 South Street) on Wednesday, May 23 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm - all donations benefit the Ridgefield Food Pantry

The Town of Ridgefield Highway Department is joining hundreds of Public Works Departments across New England in collecting food and household goods to support their local food pantry needs. The Fill-A-Public Works Truck Food Drive will occur during National Public Works Week (May 20-26, 2018) and will support the Ridgefield Food Pantry.  Help us help our neighbors and friends.   

The Ridgefield Food Drive will take place at the Highway Department located at 60 South Street on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.   Please consider donating any of these items:  Oatmeal, Milk (shelf stable), Coffee, Tea, Jelly (all flavors), Peanut Butter, Hearty Soups, Canned Stew,

Cookies, Fruit snack packs, Apple Sauce, Brownie Mixes, Cake Mixes, Frosting, Jello/Pudding, Ketchup,

Mustard, Mayonnaise, or Cooking Oil (olive/vegetable).  Most popular items: Cereal, Crackers, Canned

Fruit, Tuna, Tomato Sauce, Snacks (Pretzels/Nuts/Raisins), Pasta and Rice mixes, Canned Beans,

Canned Meats (Chicken/Ham/Spam.  (We kindly ask no bagged rice, as there are storage concerns.) 

The Pantry also accepts personal care and household items:  Soap/Body Wash, Shampoo/Conditioner, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Laundry Detergent, and Dish Soap.  Please remember to keep these particular items separate from groceries when dropping them off.
