Fairfield County Banks Donates $5,000 to Meals On Wheels in Ridgefield

David Schneider, Chief Executive Officer of Fairfield County Bank, presented Dean Miller and Liz Kelly, of Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield, with a $5,000 donation.

The donation will be used to help fund the supplies needed by the organization to fulfill its mission of providing nourishing meals to low-to-moderate income residents.

“Meals on Wheels has played a vital role in our community for the past 46 years. The amazing work they do for our neighbors is another demonstration of what makes our community so special,” said David Schneider.

Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield has been providing meals for those needing assistance due to age, disability or illness since 1972. Each year, over 140 volunteers prepare and deliver about 20,000 meals to the residents of Ridgefield.  With no federal or state funding, Meals on Wheels relies on the generous donations of community members.  To learn more about Meals on Wheels, please visit their website at www.MealsonWheelsofRidgefield.org.
