The Rotary Club of Ridgefield recently awarded a grant of $2,000 to the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA). Funds will be used to start a library of bereavement books and resources at RVNA to benefit hospice patients and grieving family members. The library will serve a wide range of ages and life situations and will be used by the Hospice by RVNA team, as well as support groups and individuals.
Our population is aging at a pace never seen before and individuals are living longer with life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses. RVNA seeks to address these changing needs by adding hospice care to our family of services. Hospice is a complementary and natural extension of the services provided by RVNA and completes the continuum of care we offer our patients and their families.
Ridgefield Rotary Club is part of the worldwide network of 34,000 clubs of Rotary International. The Club awards over $10,000 in grants and scholarships annually, made possible by the Club’s fundraisers -- Taste of Ridgefield and Ridgefield’s Gone Country BBQ Competition & Festival. Ridgefield Rotary has been serving the Ridgefield community since 1941 and lives by its motto, “service above self.”
