JoyRide Ridgefield partners with local businesses for Pink Week

PINK WEEK at JoyRidgefield - October 22-28

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, JoyRide Ridgefield is going PINK by partnering with a variety of local businesses, as well as Putnam Hospital Center to hold a series of in-studio events and pink-themed rides, designed to raise awareness, give back to the community and reinforce cardiovascular fitness as an important aspect  of overall health and well-being.

The JoyRidge PINK WEEK will kick off on Monday, October 22, 2018 with a talk given by Putnam Hospital Integrative Health Program about the importance of screening and early detection; includes a bra drive spearheaded by Candlelight Shoppe, as well as a raffle drawing of items from local businesses for riders who wear pink during the week. All week long, riders can make donations Ann’s Place, which provides support for those battling cancer. Please see the below schedule for more detail. The event(s) are open to the community, and those who wish to attend class, can book their bikes (after Sunday, 10/21 at 8:00 a.m.) here

JoyRidge’s PINK WEEK is the vision of Studio General Manager and Ridgefield local Lauren Messina. Prior to becoming a GM, Lauren was an oncology and hospice nurse for several years. After that, she earned her Masters degree to teach nursing. Her dedication to creating awareness and supporting those enduring cancer comes from this experience, the families she met, as well as her volunteerism for Ann’s Place. She is thrilled that JoyRide has given her the opportunity to continue to educate people on these important topics. She looks forward to welcoming current riders, as well as new people within the community who want to attend the event(s).
