Benefit event for Callie Furlong at Ridgefield Fred Astaire Dance Studio on February 28

Help us help Callie!!

Callie Furlong, 2-year old granddaughter of two of our dance family members, was diagnosed with Wilms tumor on January 25. Wilms tumor (nephroblastoma) is the most common type of kidney cancer in children.

On January 28, she had surgery to completely remove her kidney and a 1 pound mass. On February 6, she started the long process of chemo. Callie will require, depending on her progress, 19 to 25 weeks of chemotherapy.

On Thursday, February 28 at 8.15 p.m., Ridgefield Fred Astaire Dance Studio, located at 15 Ethan Allen Highway, is hosting an event to benefit the Furlong family. Come enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres provided by Bernard's & Sarah's Wine Bar, music and show your support to help Callie.

All donations will help the family along this long and painful process to cover:

  • Medical/hospital/treatment bills
  • Garage parking and gas for the 3 hour round trip drive to the hospital
  • Lost work wages for being home with Callie while she cannot go to daycare

If you can’t make it that night but still want to help or to find out more about Callie's story, visit https://www.gofundme.com/callie-furlong
