The Aldrich Benefit Bash on April 27 Honors Harmony Hammond and Pam & Jack Baker

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum 2019 Benefit Bash on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 7 pm to 10 pm Honors Harmony Hammond and Pam and Jack Baker

The Aldrich Benefit Bash is the single most important fundraiser of the year. Please join us for an evening of signature cocktails, dinner catered by Abigail Kirsch, and an exciting auction featuring exclusive experiences, artwork, and more.

The Aldrich will honor Harmony Hammond, whose first career-spanning survey will be on view at the Museum March 3 to September 15, 2019. Harmony is a trailblazing artist, a feminist and lesbian activist, as well as a scholar and curator whose work encompasses nearly five decades. Her inimitable approach unites Minimalist and Post-Minimalist strategies with a deep commitment to feminism and the recovery of neglected crafts to create a widely varied body of work that is rich with story and textural and visual resonance.

The Benefit Bash will also honor Pam and Jack Baker, Museum supporters and Litchfield County philanthropists. Jack served as president of the Connecticut Community Foundation, Pam serves on the Mattatuck Museum board, and they both received Patron of the Arts Awards from Governor Malloy in 2016. Jack, whose family owned and operated the Crystal Rock Water Company for over 100 years, founded Litchfield Distillery in 2015, making spirits with locally sourced corn and rye, as both a business venture and for the benefit of his beloved northwestern Connecticut community.

This event supports the Museum’s mission to present the first museum exhibitions for emerging artists, significant exhibitions of established and mid-career artists whose work is underrecognized, thematic group exhibitions exploring topics in contemporary art and society, and newly commissioned work. Accompanying all exhibitions are robust suites of educational and public programs for students, families, and adults.
