Ridgefield American Red Cross Volunteer Heads to Georgia to Assist Hurricane Dorian Relief

Thomas Kimball, an American Red Cross Volunteer from Ridgefield Connecticut is deploying today, September 2, 2019, to Atlanta, Georgia to assist with Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.  "My role will be a Disaster Services Technology Communications Supervisor.DST/CM/SV Disaster Services Technology Communications Supervisor," Kimball explains.

In his role as Disaster Services Technology Communications Supervisor, Kimball will be conducting amateur radio communications and assuring that the communications equipment on our American Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) are in perfect working order prior to heading out to disaster areas.

Kimball is a member of the Connecticut ARES Amateur Radio Emergency Service. He is a member of American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and CARA Candlewood Amateur Radio Association. He also serves on Ridgefield's Emergency Management Team at the EOC with Emergency Communications. 

Kimball was last deployed July 5-17 to South Texas American Red Cross DR 052-19 RVG TX FLT for the flooding in Texas.
