Hundreds of Locals Make Dreams Come True for SPHERE

The story of SPHERE unfolded words, songs, and deeds last night at Le Chateau in South Salem

The lyrics of Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen You Will Be Found have a whole new meaning for those who attended last night’s Night of Dream’s Gala benefiting SPHERE. Choreographed by Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Executive Director, Amy Piantaggini, an ensemble comprised of SPHERE members Tom Gollogly, Joe Zahra, Amanda Grose, Dilon Tepfer and dancers from Ridgefield Conservatory brought the song to life and many of the guests to tears.

Hand in hand with graceful rhythm, Ridgefield Conservatory dancers guided SPHERE members, and together, something beautiful was born.

Thank you to the hundreds of gala attendees for believing in dreams, and thank you to SPHERE President and Chairman of the Board Lori Berisford for enriching the lives of SPHERE members so those dreams can come true.

SPHERE’s Night of Dreams gala honored longtime SPHERE volunteer and member of the Board of Directors, Rebecca Ciota with the 2019 Commitment to Service award for her unwavering support of the organization. “Throughout her 15 years wit SPHERE, Rebecca has worked to ensure the visibility, support, and inclusion of men and women with disabilities in Ridgefield and surrounding communities," said Berisford. "Her work was instrumental in securing the bus to transport our members to various programs, maintaining our records, and serving as our Attorney - but, above all for being an advocate and friend to many of our members and their families," she added.

The magical evening of fundraising began with cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction. With multiple fireplaces glowing, guests enjoyed camaraderie while bidding on an array of items generously donated by local merchants. Guests had an opportunity to purchase a key, taking a chance it would open a treasure chest that promised an evening of Broadway, complete with dinner and transportation.

The elegant ballroom provided the backdrop for dinner, musical performances by SPHERE members, Commitment to Service Award Presentation to Rebecca by David Choplinski, and a live auction conducted with spirit and energy by Ridgefield Playhouse Executive Director, Allison Stockel.

Thanks to the one and only, Big Daddy, Sean McKee, the party continued on the dance floor!

SPHERE helps adults with developmental disabilities achieve their dreams by providing them experiences and programs that directly improve their quality of life and connect them to our robust community.
