Ridgefield Resident Thanks Local Business for Helping her Make Season Sweet for American Soldiers

Ridgefield resident Heather Neumann Salaga recently showed our American heroes that they are loved and appreciated. And she's thankful to the community, and specifically one local business, for helping her to do that!

The UPS Store team, lead by John Sommer, sent more than 400 pounds of Halloween candy (collected by Salaga and fellow community members) to our American soldiers.  "Huge shout-out and appreciation to John Sommer and the team at The UPS Store in Ridgefield! They boxed up 6 HUGE boxes of candy -- officially 401 lbs!" she said.

The candy was delivered to the nonprofit Soldiers' Angels Treats for Troops.

"They [the UPS Store] was extremely warm, welcoming, patient, and helpful! Truly John and the team are gems and their contributions to this worthy cause are very much appreciated," said Heather.

Soldiers' Angels has programs to support military families, deployed service members, wounded heroes, and veterans of all eras. One of those programs is charged with sending Halloween candy to soldiers.

"Thank you to all who participated near and far in the annual tradition and, most importantly, thank you to all Active Service Members and Veterans on this special day and all days," she added.
