Consider Supporting The Angel of Ridgefield in Honor of Sharron Lavatori

On Monday, January 20 at 3pm, The Town of Ridgefield will present the 24th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration at The Ridgefield Playhouse, honoring the legacy of the great civil rights leader with an awards ceremony, inspirational speakers and musical performances.

During the event, two members of our community will be recognized for their commitment to service and selflessness, two characteristics of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The 2020 Spirit of Dr. King Award will be given to Dr. Carol Mahlstedt, who was instrumental in leading the creation and operation of Compassionate Ridgefield and Project Resilience, and posthumously to Sharron Lavatori.

Sharron, who passed away suddenly in September of 2018, served on many nonprofit committees, rolled up her sleeves to help whomever she could, and always offered kind words that came with generous deeds.

She was known by many as "The Angel of Ridgefield" and her family has honored her legacy by establishing a nonprofit organization in Sharron's name. The Angel of Ridgefield, a 501c3, honors the life and legacy Sharron with a mission of giving, helping and supporting those in need in the Town of Ridgefield. The nonprofit is already at work and provided a Ridgefield family with a Christmas meal and gifts this year.

In the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and in honor of Sharron, please consider supporting The Angel of Ridgefield.
