Ridgefield Restaurant Worker’s COVID-19 Fund

In an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus, yesterday, Connecticut Governor Lamont ordered that restaurants and bars, movie theaters and gyms close to the public. Restaurants are only allowed to offer menu items for take out or delivery.

This has already hurt all of our small businesses who are forced to innovate to stay afloat.

We just learned that a Go Fund Me page was created by Miles Tullo to help the restaurants who are sure to see a decline in business. "Ridgefield Restaurant Worker’s COVID-19 Fund" has raised $1980.00 of its $6000 goal since launching 19 hours ago. It urges residents to donate whatever they would have spent in "tips" when dining out to the various restaurants in Ridgefield.

When making your donation, indicate which restaurant you would like to support.

The page reads:

Our restaurant workers are hurting. Let’s help them outlast COVID. For the next 3 weeks, please consider donating whatever you would have spent at Ridgefield restaurants IN TIPS (not the full bill). Indicate which restaurant (or server if you have a favorite) you want your tip(s) to go to, and I will distribute them at the end of the campaign. Hopefully, by then, we’ll all be back at our favorite restaurants and supporting our favorite servers the way they really want to be supported … by serving us all!
