The community answers the call to help neighbors in need and the Ridgefield Police Department delivers with pushups
Ridgefield Police officers Chris DeFalco and Officer Jimmy VanWattum reported on Facebook that April came and went and Ridgefield answered the call in a huge way. "Between April 1 and May 1, the Ridgefield PBA helped lead the way to more than $31k and $3,900 in restaurant gift cards for a grand total of $34,900 that will go to local community members that experience food insecurity," said DeFalco.
In case you're wondering, that's about 1,900 pushups. "We're tired," remarked DeFalco.
VanWattum said that the need is far from over and Ridgefield Rotary has stepped up and is matching all donations from May 1 to June 1.
"Thank you to all who donated and made this program a massive success," said DiFalco.
