Ridgefield Running Sisters Pay Tribute to Coach - Provide Over 500 Meals to Healthcare Workers, Support Meals on Wheels

Sisters Give Back to Honor Coach who Died from Cancer

In early May, Katie and Emma Langis organized a virtual Run-A-Thon in honor of their beloved Coach Owens who lost his battle with cancer in March. Members of the boys and girls Ridgefield High School Track and Cross Country covered 350.4 miles and raised $7,675.

This week, Katie and Emma announced that they provided over 500 meals to both Danbury and Norwalk healthcare workers and also provided a monetary donation to Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield. "We would like to thank Gallo and Parma Deli for supplying delicious meals. Thank you to all the runners and the people who so generously donated money in Coach Owens’ memory!" they said.

Thank you to Emma, Katie and the many runners who participated in this important event that supported our frontline healthcare workers and community residents in need.
