For her birthday, RHS freshman wants to help locals with food insecurity

Ridgefield High School freshman Annabelle Stewart is paying it forward for her birthday which takes place this month. Instead of receiving gifts, she's asking the community to support locals experiencing food insecurity.

Now through October 23, please bring nonperishable food to Winter Garden Ice Arena (111 Prospect Ridge) or 50 Fulling Mill Lane in Ridgefield (box on porch). Pick up can also be arranged. Your donations will be given to The Daily Bread Food Pantry in Danbury.

The Daily Bread Food Pantry is a small, local nonprofit that helps hungry families. Annabelle explains, "Their pantry service 700-800 families per month as well as having 3,000 families visit each year." She adds, "Contributing to this organization will help many families."

Please see the flyer in this post for a list of "most needed items".

Happy birthday, Annabelle and thank you for helping those in need.
