Saturday's Celebrate and Support Ridgefield Raises $10,000 to Help Families Struggling Due to COVID

Saturday, October 24th, Ridgefield Rotary held a Celebrate and Support Ridgefield event in front of Town Hall. The town came out in full force to enjoy live music as they dropped off cash, checks, Stop & Shop cards, and gift certificates to local restaurants. The weather may have been a bit rainy but the spirit was full of sunshine.

Although donations are still coming in, our final total will be around $10,000, all going to Social Services to help support those struggling those during these difficult times, helping to pay for rent, food, fuel, and basic needs. If you missed the event, you can still donate to Ridgefield Social Services in Town Hall, with a memo Oct.24th event.

The Ridgefield Fire Department and Police Department surprised us with their presence in support of the event.

A big THANK YOU to Blue Hammer for donating the banner, and Squashes for donating the printing material, Marshall Odeen for donating all proceeds from his BBQ and golf outing, the restaurants, deli’s, merchants, the townspeople as well as the Interact Students, The Lions Heart and many volunteers.

Adding pizzazz to the event was the live music by the famous Angry O’Haras, The Music Rescuers, a middle school band that dedicates their playing to fundraising events, as well as Patrick from Bach to Rock, and the great guitarist Al Rivoli!

And, of course, we are grateful to Rotary members who came out in full force to Celebrate and Support this amazing town.

Your efforts made this event a great success.
