The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield identified many families (within its membership network), who desperately need support this holiday season. “Now more than ever, our community needs help buying toys and essential clothing items for growing children,” said Mike Flynn, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield. “We provide youth development opportunities and programs to more than 3000 children annually (grades 1- 12), in the greater Ridgefield community. The Club is a home away from home and a place for young people to find their passions and develop into responsible, productive and caring citizens.”
This inaugural holiday gift-giving event offers everyone an opportunity to help families in need. “Due to safety concerns, the Ridgefield Fire Department had to limit the scope of our annual Fire Truck Santa event. Sadly, that means less funds we’ll be able to put back into the community this year,” said Captain Tony Cerulli. “We created this virtual gift-giving event to complement our holiday fundraising efforts - now everyone can participate from the safety of their own homes.”
Ridgefield Professional Fire Fighters Local 1739 posted the list of gifts in need. Please review the Google Excel sheet and initial purchased items indicating the gift is en route. All new and unwrapped gifts can be shipped to the Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield located at: 41 Governor Street in Ridgefield, CT 06877. Alternatively, you can make a PayPal/Venmo donation by clicking the DONATE button on Ridgefield Professional Fire Fighters Local 1739 website. 100% of the funds will be distributed to the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield.
‘Tis the season of giving. “Many more families are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table this year. Buying holiday gifts for loved ones becomes an impossible task during tough times. Our goal is to ensure that every child in this community has at least one present to open this holiday season,” said event organizer, Sarah Motta “After all, giving, hope, love, goodwill and cheer are some of the feelings that embody the spirit of Christmas.”
This charitable holiday gift-giving event ends on December 18, 2020. Gifts will be distributed to families by December 23.
