Support Ridgefield Nonprofits on Giving Tuesday

Thanksgiving - check. Black Friday - check. Cyber Monday - check. Today, December 1 is GivingTuesday,  a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

Consider giving LOCAL today. There are so many worthy nonprofits right here in Ridgefield that are changing the world for the better - on a daily basis! These nonprofits are helping residents with disabilities, bringing art, music, dance, theater and even Broadway to our community (and beyond), providing services and programs to senior citizens and children, rescuing pets, and keeping us healthy. Let's help them continue to fulfill their important missions!

Making GivingTuesday even more special this year, Facebook will once again match up to $7 million USD in donations made on Facebook on GivingTuesday. The Match kicked off at 8am Eastern Time and Facebook will continue matching qualifying donations to nonprofits until the $7M match runs out.

How it works (courtesy of Facebook)

Matches are made on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue until the $7M USD fund has been met.

First: Matching 100% of the first $2M

  • For the first $2million, we’ll match 100% of donations made to qualifying fundraisers. For example, if you donate $10, Facebook will also donate $10.

Second: Matching 10% after

  • For the remaining $5M, we'll match 10% of donations made to qualifying fundraisers. For example, if you donate $10, Facebook will donate $1.
Understand match caps

Facebook will match donations to qualifying nonprofits up to:
  • $100,000 USD total donations matched per nonprofit
  • $20,000 USD in qualifying donations per donor
Who is eligible for matching

Any US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is eligible to receive donations on Facebook may be matched.

See the Giving Tuesday Donation Match Program Terms for more details about the match.
