ROAR Participates in 2021 Stop & Shop Giving Tag Program

Stop & Shop Ridgefield, CT Selects ROAR as Designated Non-profit to Receive Donation from Purchase of Each Reusable Community Bag During February 2021

Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR), a non-profit animal rescue organization in Ridgefield, CT that specializes in the compassionate treatment and adoption of homeless pets, was recently selected by local Stop & Shop Ridgefield store leadership as a benefiting non-profit in the Community Bag Program. For the month of February 2021, ROAR will receive a $1 donation from each purchase of the $2.50 reusable Community Bag at the Stop & Shop store located at 125 Danbury Road, Ridgefield CT. The donation will automatically go to ROAR.

When shoppers purchase the $2.50 reusable Community Bag at any Stop & Shop store in Connecticut during other months, they have the opportunity to direct a $1 donation to ROAR by using the attached Giving Tag. All you need to do is visit any Stop & Shop store in Connecticut, purchase their reusable "Give Back" bags and complete the tag found on the bag to direct the $1 donation to ROAR.

ROAR has already begun generating donations through the use of the Giving Tag.

“We are honored that Stop & Shop Ridgefield selected ROAR as the benefiting non-profit to receive a donation from every Community Bag purchased during the month of February,” said Kerry Dobson, ROAR’s executive director. “Every dollar donated to ROAR will help us continue to support the housing, veterinary care, feeding, training and placement of neglected and needy cats and dogs into loving, forever homes.”

The Stop & Shop Giving Tag Program, which launched in May 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.
