Fairfield County’s Giving Day – February 25
To the Editor,
Fairfield County’s Giving Day, the region’s biggest day of philanthropic giving, is on Thursday, February 25th this year. Powered by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, this dynamic 24-hour online fundraising event unites Fairfield County around local causes and nonprofit organizations that are closest to our hearts. Since 2014, Fairfield County’s Giving Day has raised over $9.3 million, benefitted over 1,550 nonprofits, and garnered over 97,000 donations.
To date, 49 nonprofit organizations in the Danbury area, representing Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Georgetown, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sandy Hook, have signed up to participate this year. As board members of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation who live and work in Danbury, Redding and Ridgefield, we are writing to ask you to help support our nonprofit community in meeting the myriad challenges posed by the COVID pandemic: widespread economic hardship, lack of access to food, shelter, health care and education, and a near shutdown of the arts. If you are inclined to help, now is the time.
Please set a reminder to visit https://www.fcgives.org/ on February 25th and give to your favorite nonprofits, including those serving our local and regional community. It’s a fun, easy, and important way to make a difference right here in Fairfield County.
Thank you in advance for your participation. Together we thrive!
