One of Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center’s priorities is to provide equitable access to programming for visitors of all ages. Thanks to a grant from Fairfield County Bank Corporation, students from Title 1 schools in the Fairfield County region will receive the museum’s virtual, hybrid, and in-person school programming at no cost in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Fairfield County Bank Corporation has partnered with KTM&HC in recent years to underwrite some of the museum’s educational initiatives. This year, KTM&HC was thrilled to receive a grant that supports the museum’s work to specifically address educational challenges due to the pandemic.
Over the past several months, KTM&HC has developed robust virtual offerings that provide substantial educational content and interaction for students. Generous support from Fairfield County Bank Corporation enables KTM&HC's education department to continue developing relevant content for new digital school programs and virtual field trips that are curriculum-aligned. It provides equitable access to these programs by underwriting the program fees and cost of materials, particularly for students from Title 1 schools across Fairfield County who otherwise would not receive these lessons of history and civics. “Providing quality programming for all is a priority of our mission, and FCB’s generosity helps us expand our educational reach and make sure that local students can take advantage of our significant historical resources,” said KTM&HC Board President Rhonda Hill.
