Groove at the Annual FunkRaiser at the Ridgefield Playhouse and Support Music In Our Schools!

The FunkRaiser is back! After a two-year pause, the beloved concert fundraiser has returned to the public -- live and in person. Event proceeds will go to the RHS Music Department as well as Ridgefield Music Parents, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the music program within Ridgefield Public Schools. Come to the Ridgefield Playhouse on October 29th at 7pm for an unforgettable night of funk music and entertainment.

Set to perform onstage are many of Ridgefield’s student musicians, teachers, and alumni. Ensembles include the East Ridge and Scotts Ridge Jazz Bands, the Ridgefield High School Jazz Band, and the RHS Chamber Orchestra. Also featured is Shere Khan, a band composed of the town’s music teachers and alumni.

“Prep’s been going great,” said 12th-grade pianist Scott Robert, Jr. “Mr. Beratis and the section leaders have been grinding to prepare material for the event… learning all of our tunes by ear and creating our own arrangements and harmonizations.”

As preparation continues, excitement is in the air for many student musicians at Ridgefield High. “I loved getting funky with my friends and learning new music with the whole band [in past years],” said 11th-grade percussionist, Will Scheffel. “I look forward to soloing on some pieces and playing the best we can.”

Come and support music in Ridgefield Public Schools by attending the FunkRaiser at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Enjoy an amazing night of entertainment and community on October 29 at 7pm. Tickets are selling online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org and ridgefieldmusicparents.org; pricing is $10 for students and $20 for adults. We hope to see you there!
