Raise a glass to Mitch Ancona - he's spinning his wheels to support cancer research and treatment

Two wonderful wine offerings this year to help generate funds for a great organization, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute via the Pan Mass Challenge.

I'm asking you to help raise funds for an awesome organization by buying these wines HERE or donating directly to my fundraising efforts HERE, or perhaps both?

The Wines:

2020 Tacherons - Haute Vallee Chardonnay 'Pour Josh'

2020 Tacherons - Haute Vallee Pinot Noir 'Pour Josh'

The Facts:

Who- Tacherons is the brainchild of the dynamic duo that is Boris Kovak and David Serodes.

Boris is first and foremost an artist, a painter—who has been making wine for over 30 years.

David has also made a career in winemaking which has been a family tradition for several generations. Besides making wine, he enjoys sailing and riding a dirt bike.

What- Tacherons is a tribute in recognition of the vineyard workers and their attention to detail that makes great wine possible. These wines are produced from 100% Pinot Noir and 100% Chardonnay.

Why- Both the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay offer quality and are delicious, everyday wines at an affable price point to pair seamlessly with a wide variety of cuisine or to quaff all on their own.

Where- These grapes are farmed in the Haute Vallée of Languedoc.

How: Both wines are vinified in stainless steel (with just 20% of the Pinot Noir seeing time in French oak barrels).

The Purpose Of This Offering:

To celebrate the life of Josh Adler. Josh passed away on the 25th of February 2022 at the Hôpital Franco-Britannique in Paris, after a seven-month ordeal of bravely battling pancreatic cancer. Josh was only 42 years old and is survived by his beloved wife, architect Catherine Haas Adler, and their two sons, Max and Paul. Besides husband and father, Josh was a visionary, a lover of wine, and the owner/founder of the Paris Wine Company, a thoughtful importer of French wines that we've worked with closely for several years.

In 2018, Codey and I had the pleasure of hanging out with Josh for two weeks in France visiting many of his awesome producers.

Regular: $16.99/bottle (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir)

Introductory Price: $14.99/bottle

Codey's Notes:

Chardonnay-"The Chardonnay sees no oak whatsoever and is an utter delight—driven by brushstrokes of tree fruit, fresh cream, crushed stone, and baby white wildflowers. Its crisp but rounded edges offer an affinity for sandwiches, pasta salad, goat cheese, or trout dip. A great little lunch white.”

Pinot Noir-"Just a small percentage of the Pinot Noir sees time in French oak barrels and it's marked by ripe Bing cherries, warm spices, and whispers of crushed stone and tea. It will provide a flawless accompaniment for salmon, simple charcuterie, and casserole."

(and yes, as always, it involves bikes)

Long story short-ish.... I love to ride bikes, I love "giving back" to worthy causes and I love wine. So I'm always looking for the opportunity to smoosh those things together. Hence this story...

The bike ride-

My friends Tizzie and Tom introduced me to the idea of riding the 2020 edition of the Pan Mass Challenge, a two day ride across Massachusetts (187 miles) to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for research and treatment. (100 percent of rider-raised dollars are donated). The event has been going on for 40 years and has raised well over 700 million dollars... (Shout out to Tiz who has taken part for the past 25 years!)

The past two years have been "DIY". This year the ride is going on for "real". It will be the first time that I will ride the actually route with all of the other riders...WHOO-HOOO!

The "Ask" (Again)

Buy these wines HERE

Pretty please?

If you love them, perhaps think about making them your go-to White and Red for the Summer months.

If you're not into wine, then perhaps consider donating to me personally? Or be a stellar individual and do both... or not, we'll still be friends.

Again, this year I'm riding for my friend Josh Adler, father, husband, son and person that I'm proud to say I knew.

You can donate HERE
