Vote for The Iris Fund: Fairfield County Bank December Charity of the Month

The Iris Fund is honored to have been included in Fairfield County Bank’s Charity of the Month program for December.  The charity that receives the most votes (online, in-branch, and through the Customer Care Center) by the end of the month will win a $1,000 donation!

Anyone can vote daily by:

  1. Visiting Fairfield County Bank’s Charity of the Month page to vote online
  2. Visiting one of Fairfield County Bank’s 17 branch offices or drive-ups
  3. By calling our Customer Care Center at 203.431.7431

The Iris Fund was created by Ridgefield residents Brittney Crystal and José Aleman in loving memory of their daughter Iris Crystal Aleman who was born and passed away due to prematurity on July 15, 2017.

The Iris Fund works to understand what causes labor in a full-term pregnancy so that we can eventually stop labor from starting early - preventing preterm birth. Every year, at least 15 million babies are born prematurely. In 2021, in the United States alone, almost 400,000 babies - a population greater than that of Cleveland, OH - were born before their due date. The price tag in the U.S. is $26 Billion. With your help we’ll close these critical gaps in knowledge, provide piece of mind to all pregnant people with questions, and fund the novel (non-invasive) techniques to end preterm birth.

If we win this generous donation from Fairfield County Bank, we will be honored to forward it on directly to our research team at Columbia University's Preterm Birth Prevention Center. You can learn more about our research here: https://www.theirisfund.org/read-me
