Housatonic Habitat for Humanity Celebrates 31st Anniversary with Successful Blueprints and Blue Jeans Fundraiser

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity held its 2nd annual "Blueprints & Blue Jeans" Fall Fundraiser on October 4 at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The evening featured heartwarming stories from Habitat homeowners, along with entertainment by local musician Jim Endee, comedian Christine O'Leary and special guest emcee, Max Tucci. Food and flowers were provided by Hayfields Market in North Salem.

Attendees included local business owners, Habitat families and area residents, as well as town and government officials who support the mission of Housatonic Habitat: to provide safe, affordable homes to qualified working families in our community.

The event raised more than $125,000 to help offset the costs of building Habitat homes, reports Habitat Executive Director Kristen Keil. “The response from the community was tremendous,” says Keil. “We are so incredibly grateful to those who attended the event, as well as the many local businesses who sponsored or contributed in some way to the evening’s success. The funds raised will go a long way toward building our next Habitat home for another deserving, hardworking family in our community.”

Housatonic Habitat is currently building four new homes in New Preston, CT, and renovating a townhome in New Milford. Applications for homeownership are available online at: housatonichabitat.org.
