Why Ridgefield Nonprofits Matter: Marine Veterans of Fairfield County

Why Ridgefield Nonprofits Matter

You're IT Marine Veterans of Fairfield County!

Three questions with Peter Killie, member of Marine Veterans of Fairfield County.

What is the mission/purpose of Marine Veterans?

The Marine Veterans of Fairfield County, based at 31 Halpin Lane Ridgefield, was founded by a group of local Marine veterans to:

a) preserve and strengthen the bonds of comradeship and brotherhood fostered by the shared service experience in the United States Marine Corps.
b) to perpetuate the memory of the fallen of all of our Nation's wars.
c) to provide organized community service to Ridgefield and surrounding towns in Fairfield County.
d) assist local veterans and the families of veterans with all the Services as needed aid.

How do you support the community?

31 Halpin Lane serves as the central headquarters and distribution point for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign. This past season Marine Veterans of Fairfield County members collected almost 21,000 toys which were distributed to about 9100 children in communities throughout western Connecticut.

Have you "reimagined" your nonprofit?

The Marine Veterans of Fairfield County have re-invented the organization to become more oriented in assisting local Fairfield County communities and its residents. We encourage all veterans to join us in our commitment to preserving the memory of all who served and to continue our service to the residents of Fairfield County.
