Meet the Ridgefield Library Gala Co-Chairs

The 2023 Great Expectations Gala committee, led by co-chairs Marcie and Peter Coffin and Tizzie and Tom Mantione, is busy planning the Ridgefield Library’s annual fundraiser which will take place on May 20th.

The Gala, honoring Suni and Woody Harford, will be held at the Library and will include a cocktail hour, a sit-down dinner by Raffaele Gallo and an afterparty.

The Mantiones and Coffins have strong ties to the Library. Both couples raised their now college-aged children in town and spent countless hours with them at the Library, checking out books, attending children’s programming and participating in many summer reading contests. Peter especially appreciates that his children benefitted from the Ridgefield Library just as he did, having grown up in Ridgefield himself and having a grandmother who was a librarian! Tizzie served on the Library board for 6 years, 3 of those as Treasurer, while Peter was Chairman of the board for 10 years, receiving the Paccadolmi award in 2010 for his dedication to the Library.

The Coffins acknowledge that the Library offers so much more than books, but also lectures, classes, workshops, technology and meeting spaces for all Ridgefield residents. Tizzie sums up their love of the library by saying, “The Library is the heart of the Ridgefield community, providing something for everyone. It is a safe and welcoming environment to all citizens, a true gem in our town!”
