Replanting Ridgefield’s Main Street Trees

A project is underway to replant the many Main Street trees lost due to storm damage, disease and age. The effort is led by John Katz, the Tree Committee and the Tree Warden with support from the Conservation and Historic District Commissions.

An arborist undertook a survey of all the trees and a professional landscape architect is working with the group to consider a range of new trees to be planted. The replanting will include Main Street trees from “blinking light to blinking light” on either end of Main Street.

A special fund has been set up to finance the planning, acquisition, planting, and early care (e.g., watering) for new trees for Main Street – some will be planted this season! The replanting project is underway thanks to funds from early supporters of this work. To help make this undertaking successful, please consider a contribution to this effort.

Checks can be made out to:

“Town of Ridgefield – Main Street Trees”

Please mail to:

All funds for this project will be accounted for separately and may not be utilized for any purpose other than the replanting of the Main Street trees.

Thank you for your support.
