Ridgefield Police say that on May 22 at 10:41 pm, they received a call reporting individuals attempting to steal a vehicle out of the driveway at 27 Nutmeg Ridge Road. Officers responded to the area where they observed a white Volkswagon Altas take off at a high rate of speed.
Shortly after, officers say they located a motor vehicle accident involving the Volkswagon Atlas at the intersection of Main Street and Big Shop Lane. All of the occupants of the Volkswagon Altas fled the scene on foot.
According to the police report, officers located two of the individuals, Ayana Poventud, age 19 and Alejandro Santiago, age 18, behind a house on Abbott Avenue and took them into custody. Both of the individuals are residents of New Britain, CT.
